Ann Upchurch

After moving to Huntsville, Alabama, in 1979, Ann Upchurch gained invaluable experience participating in classes with local legend Jack Dempsey. For the last fifteen years, she has been taking advantage of studio and plein air workshops in the United States and Europe with many of today’s masters, including Johnnie Liliedahl, Kim English, Robert Johnson, David Leffel, Scott Burdick, and Huihan Liu.

Within her paintings one can view the greens of Ireland, the sun and shadows of Italy, the light on Cotswold stone cottages, the mystery of Scotland’s moors and the picturesque villages of France. Ann credits traveling for providing her with wonderful memories and continuous inspiration.

She has had several solo exhibitions in area galleries and exhibits year round in her home studio in Huntsville.
